Invitations should be addressed and sent out six to eight weeks prior to the ceremony. Tip: Invitations should be neatly handwritten, rather than typed. Step 2: Use titles Use full names and titles on the outer envelopes. A married couple would be "Mr. and Mrs. John Doe." It is also acceptable to include the wife's first name.
